I've Been Loving: Steampunk♥
Okay Dudes and Betty's, I must firstly admit that I have not always liked Steampunk. When it first became really popular I judged it and thought it was kind of stupid. "What's the point?" Was the only thing going through my mind. After a long while I saw a picture on Pinterest that made me want to research it more. Now I can honestly say I was so wrong. Steampunk is not only amazing fashion, but it's also a totally sick form of art.
"Steampunk is a sub-genre of science fiction that typically features steam-powered machinery, especially in a setting inspired by industrialized Western civilization during the 19th century. Therefore, steampunk works are often set in an alternate history of the 19th century's British Victorian era or American "Wild West", in a post-apocalyptic future during which steam power has regained mainstream use, or in a fantasy world that similarly employs steam power.
So, whether you're already a fan of it or are a doubter like I was, hopefully after reading this post you'll be given some inspiration from this lovely style of fashion.
One of the things I love from Steampunk is how it reminds me of a whole different world. It's like if your favorite anime character became real.
Who knew that mixing the Victorian era with punk could look so amazing? I like how this dress has an ombre and somewhat torn effect.
I love this picture. Another element that is very popular in Steampunk fashion is the use of goggles, like this guy has wrapped around his neck. Sometimes their actually worn, or other times in the top of their head.
This one I quite like because of the brown and black striped theme. Her pants almost look like something Steven Tyler would wear. I'm just sayin'.
So what do you all think of Steampunk fashion? Let me know you're thoughts in the comment section below!
